Without cucumbers, I can not imagine my garden. We are looking forward to early cucumbers, it is impossible even to compare them with cucumbers bought in supermarkets. Therefore, we try to get by with our harvest. Of course, in the autumn-winter period I will not take my fresh cucumbers anywhere, I do not have a heated greenhouse. But here the workpieces made in the summer help out. I take the choice of cucumber varieties very responsibly, I try to pick them so that the crop ripens as early as possible, and the fruiting lasts until the colds. Every year I plant several proven varieties and hybrids and, necessarily, try new ones. In this article I will tell you about the hybrids of cucumbers that pleased me last season.

9 indispensable hybrids of cucumbers

Breeders constantly develop new wonderful varieties and hybrids, the main indicators of which are not only taste, but also productivity, unpretentiousness, and duration of fruiting. Modern hybrids do not bite, do not outgrow. Therefore, I do not miss new items, I try experimentally to choose the best cucumbers for my conditions.

When choosing varieties of cucumbers, I honestly give preference to universal ones that can be used for salads and for canning. I distribute the harvest for harvests by size: small beautiful cucumbers - for pickle and pickling, larger and uneven - for fresh and canned salads.

Especially recently, we liked not pickled, namely pickled cucumbers, without vinegar. This year I first made blanks using the "cucumbers in cucumbers" method. I liked the recipe very much - small cucumbers are layered with grated cucumbers, without brine. A very successful recipe - cucumbers are delicious, good commodity cucumbers and overgrown are also used, it takes very little time to prepare such cucumbers.

I grow part of the cucumbers in a polycarbonate greenhouse - I try to plant the earliest cucumbers there and those that are distinguished by extended fruiting. I also grow cucumbers in the open ground and in the so-called temporary shelters under non-woven material.

My greenhouse cucumbers

Description of cucumbers that I liked this year, I will start with greenhouses.

1. Cucumber "Heroic Force F1"

Cucumber "Heroic Force F1".

Hybrid early ripening, bundle, up to 8 ovaries in a knot. This hybrid has a high yield. There were many ovaries, they developed until the colds. In total, during the season we harvested a good crop of these cucumbers.

Zelentsy 8-12 cm, oval-cylindrical in shape. They are dense, juicy, without voids, with a small amount of seeds. The peel of these cucumbers is quite dense, so they tolerate transportation well.

A hybrid of universal use, cucumbers can be eaten fresh, various preparations can be made. We liked that, in comparison with other varieties and hybrids, these cucumbers are stored for a long time, about two weeks, without losing freshness.

2. Cucumber "Grasshopper F1"

Cucumber "Grasshopper F1".

I have heard only very good reviews about this hybrid for a long time. This year I decided to try to plant him and see if he really is that good. This hybrid can be planted both in open ground and in the greenhouse. I planted in the greenhouse to get the crop as early as possible.

According to the description, cucumbers begin to bear fruit on 38-39 days after germination. Indeed, fruiting began along with other ultra-early varieties. The hybrid beam, cucumbers crispy, fragrant, about 10 cm long. If you pick pickles, then picking cucumbers 3-5 cm long must be carried out daily.

The yield of the hybrid is not the highest, there is much more productive. But the taste is excellent! Both fresh cucumbers and canned. The hybrid bore fruit until the colds, while showing resistance to disease. We ate plenty of fresh cucumbers and made a lot of preparations: pickles, pickles and various salads with cucumbers for the winter.

An interesting feature of this hybrid is that in the blanks the color of the cucumbers remained bright green. The blanks turned out to be very successful, the cucumbers in them are crispy, tasty and beautiful.

We were very pleased with this hybrid, so we will plant it next year.

3. Cucumber "Liliput F1"

Cucumber "Liliput F1".

An early hybrid, in my greenhouse began to bear fruit in about 38-40 days, the sowing field. Ideal for those gardeners who prefer to collect miniature cucumbers, the so-called pickles.

The fruits are very small, neat, just for pickling. The blanks turned out very beautiful. Cucumbers in the blanks are delicious, crispy.

It is characteristic that these cucumbers do not turn yellow when overripe, which is very important when it is not possible to harvest frequently. This hybrid belongs to the bundle, in one node from 7 to 10 ovaries are formed. Productivity is quite high, according to the description - up to 11 kg per square meter. During cultivation, the hybrid showed disease resistance.

4. Cucumber "Champion F1"

Cucumber "Champion F1".

I really liked this hybrid from Zedek agricultural firm. Cucumber is very productive - struck by an abundance of ovaries. According to the description, the yield of the hybrid is at the level of 25-28 kg per square meter. I did not weigh, but there were a lot of cucumbers. In the greenhouse, fruiting continued until the deepest autumn.

The use of cucumbers is universal: fresh and for workpieces. The ripening hybrid is mid-ripening, by the time of the mass ripening of cucumbers, we began to let most of the crop into harvesting. Preservation from these cucumbers turned out to be delicious, crispy, without voids.

In addition to the versatility of use, I liked that the plants are medium-sized. This greatly facilitates their formation and care. This hybrid has justified its name, I will definitely plant it again.

The cucumbers that I grew under shelter

In shelters for non-woven material, I plant unpretentious varieties and hybrids of cucumbers, resistant to disease. And the plants should be medium-sized, it is very convenient to form them in conditions of low shelter height.

5. Cucumber "Alekseich F1"

Cucumber "Alekseyich F1".

According to the description, an early hybrid (40 days). Indeed, he began to give the crop one of the first. Cucumbers are small, cylindrical in shape, there are not many tubercles. Hybrid beam, in each node 2-3 green leaves were tied. The length of the cucumbers is 7-9 cm. The cucumbers are dense, crunchy, very tasty. We ate them fresh, used for canning. We prepared small pickles for pickles, so-called pickles, they are wonderful for pickling and pickling. The blanks with them came out very tasty and beautiful.

The plants were compact, the side shoots were small, which greatly facilitated the care of the plants. Harvest of cucumbers - a good, harvested a lot, moreover, this hybrid bore fruit to the colds.

I liked the resistance of plants to diseases. When signs of disease appeared on many varieties at the end of summer, these plants remained green and healthy.

I really liked the combination of taste characteristics, productivity and unpretentiousness of the hybrid, I will plant it the next year.

6. Cucumber "Spring F1"

Cucumber "Spring F1".

Very early hybrid (37-43 days from germination to harvest). According to the description - medium, resistant to disease. Therefore, too, planted under cover material.

Cucumbers are small, only 7-8 cm, aligned with brown pimples. Very tasty, sweet, crispy. I liked it both fresh and in billets. Very nice came out assorted with cherry tomatoes and these cucumbers. Still, these cucumbers are wonderful precisely for pickling (without vinegar), and not pickling. The salty ones turned out to be very tasty - crispy, aromatic.

The hybrid is very fruitful, I did not weigh, but according to the description - up to 17 kg of cucumbers per square meter. The yield of the crop is fast, friendly. For long-term fruiting, this hybrid is not suitable.

7. Cucumber "Salted F1"

Cucumber "Salted F1".

This hybrid is bee pollinated, with partial parthenocarpy, that is, it bears fruit even in the absence of pollinating insects. The plants are medium-sized, they can be grown in open ground and in the so-called temporary shelters under a film or other covering material.

Cucumbers ripened with a length of 10 centimeters, a hybrid with a bunch of laying ovaries (2 ovaries in a knot). Fruits are green with white stripes and large tubercles.

Cucumbers are crispy, juicy, delicious. They are good at canning, the dark green color does not disappear during heat treatment. But nevertheless we used a little of them for preparations. Like all bee pollinators, these cucumbers are so fragrant and delicious that we just ate them fresh.

Fruiting was long and uniform throughout the season. Plant diseases were not affected. So, the hybrid is good, I will plant more.

The cucumbers that I grew in the open ground

In open ground, the yield of cucumbers, of course, is lower, but still they are much tastier than greenhouses. Therefore, I must plant several cucumbers in the open ground.

8. Cucumber "Kids on the F1 branch"

Cucumber "Kids on the F1 branch."

Mid early bee pollinated hybrid. It was bred for a long time and is famous for productivity and taste. I put him in open ground on a trellis, without any shelter. He came into bearing approximately 45 days after germination.

I liked the cucumbers very much. Their taste and aroma are wonderful. Fruits are small tuberous, dense, small in size, few seeds. Cucumbers do not outgrow and do not turn yellow, they are all neat, as if on selection - even. Such cucumbers are ideal for pickling and pickling. The blanks turned out to be of excellent quality, tasty, crispy and without voids.

Hybrid fruitful, beam type. In each node, 2-3 cucumbers were formed. We harvested long enough, before the cold weather. Therefore, definitely, I will still plant these cucumbers.

9. Cucumber "Cheboksarets F1"

Cucumber "Cheboksarets F1".

In the open ground, I also planted a cucumber "Cheboksarets F1" Kirov selection. According to the description, this is a very unpretentious hybrid: cold-resistant, shade-tolerant, resistant to diseases and temperature extremes.

I decided to plant these cucumbers in a new way - "in a village way." Partially rotted compost was stacked from the edge of the bed. I covered it with old covering material. I cut 2 holes in the center and planted seedlings in them. I didn’t form the plants, I sent the whips in different directions so that they would not be mixed up.

Harvested wonderful. And I liked the method, cucumbers, in addition to watering, do not need any care. And the variety is wonderful, unpretentious, resistant to disease. Closer to the fall, when under the cover material on some cucumbers the signs of diseases began to appear, the leaves of this hybrid were without signs of the disease.

Cucumbers were fragrant, delicious, with thin skin. Dense crunchy cucumbers are perfect for harvesting and salads. The fruiting of the cucumber was uniform and long. So, the experiment was a success, I will plant this variety, perhaps again in the same way.

Dear readers! Today there are a lot of wonderful varieties and hybrids of cucumbers. When choosing seeds, pay attention not to the picture, but to the main characteristics: ripening time, yield, disease resistance. And the variety is suitable or not for your growing conditions, you can find out only by growing it.

Have a good harvest!
